In honor of our love of the Triple-D experience (that's "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives" for the uninitiated), Angel, Inge, Janeen and I went to Wanship today to visit the Spring Chicken Inn. Wanship is a very tiny town between Park City and Coalville with not much to recommend it, other than the Famous Spring Chicken Inn. They've been around since 1930 and specialize in, what else, fried chicken. It was a beautiful day in the mountains and according to the owner, today was the busiest they've been in 8 months. We filled ourselves with chicken and fixins', and because of the long wait, the server was gracious enough to not charge us for our drinks. We had a fabulous time. Some of our friends were aware we were heading up there, and in fact, Brian even called while we were there to ask us to bring some chicken back for him.
After that, we went back in to Park City to do a little shopping at the Outlet mall and had a little too much fun at the Coldwater Creek store. By that time, we'd worked off our lunch walking around the mall, and we figured we might as well have dessert. So-o-o-o off we went to Heber, for a shake at Granny's. I don't know how long Granny's has been there, but I've been aware of it ever since college at the Y. And since then, I always make a point of stopping there whenever I'm in Heber. Apparently we started a trend, because when we first got there, the parking lot was empty, but by the time we left, the place was hopping.
In honor of our chicken and shakes, this Triple-D adventure was named the "Shake Your Funky Chicken" Tour. And since every tour needs a headlining act, we have taken to calling ourselves the "Dive Divas". Check back here for future tour events and updates.
