So here we are at another Valentine's Day. Some of my single friends refer to it as Single Awareness Day, or by it's more popular acronym, SAD. And I admit there have been times when I've gone along with that thinking. But not this year. This year, I just don't feel like thinking that way. I mean, how can a day dedicated to good chocolate be sad?
I was reminded of this yesterday by one of my former young women, a Single Young Adult, who posted to Facebook and encouraged all her friends to think of today not as SAD and a day to be dreaded, but a day to go about doing good, to be grateful for our blessings, and to share faith, hope and charity with those around us. And really when you think of it, I'm pretty sure that's how the Lord himself would like us to celebrate. So in the spirit of that remark, and in honor of St. Valentine, who today we celebrate for doing just that, I wish you all love, joy, hope, and a most Happy Valentine's Day!
Hi, my name's Tracie and I'm a Mormon. That being said, I've provided enough context for the conversation I had with the receptionist at work today: Christy: (Showing me a photo) What picture is this movie from? Me: Mmmm, Serendipity maybe? Christy: No...you should know this. Me: I should? Christy: (Finally) It's from the movie "Charlie"! Me: How would I know that? I don't watch Mormon movies. They're dumb. Now that I've let the cat out of the bag, I guess I should also confess that I also don't listen to Mormon pop music (other than the original recording of The Forgotten Carols), or read Mormon fiction. So sue me. Let's face it, it's not like most of them are of real quality anyway. When it comes to Mormon music, I'll stick with my MoTab and the hymns of Zion.
